Mediterranean Oregano

This is a robust herb that is both complex and strongly aromatic. The most popular oregano, which is member of the mint family, is known as Mediterranean oregano. Native to warm temperate regions, our oregano is grown in the southeast coastal region of Turkey, giving it a more intense aroma and flavor.

Flavor Profile

Smell: A wild variety of the herb marjoram, oregano is native to warm, temperate regions, and ours is sourced in southeast coastal Turkey. Many substrains of oregano have been developed over the years, but ours remains true to oregano’s strengths of intense aroma and flavor.

Flavors: Slightly sweet, slightly bitter in taste, oregano’s major qualities are aromatic. With subtle hints of fennel and sage, oregano is a distinct aroma, recognizable at once.

Use: Always great on Mediterranean food such as pasta and pizza, try rubbing oregano onto a whole chicken before roasting. Finish soups with a dash to capture all of oregano’s aroma, and even sprinkle on popcorn for an interesting change.
