Story: Flat salt ponds thousands of feet in the Peruvian mountains absorb fresh water from mountain streams that dry into salt that has been hand harvested for millennia. High in minerals that give this salt its pink color, ours is ground into a medium-coarse size.
Flavor: A very coarse, crunchy texture add dimension to food, and create a slowly building--though strong--salinity and minerality.
Use: Use as a finishing salt to create aesthetic appeal and texture on any dish, especially those contrasting with dark color.
